► Do you provide the Life in the UK test as well?

Yes we do, but the booking must be done through the official Home Office website.

► What is the structure of the B1 exam?

TRINITY GESE EXAMS

The exam takes the form of an unscripted conversation with a Trinity examiner and lasts for 10 minutes. There are two parts to the exam:

The Topic discussion: the candidate selects a topic of their choice to prepare in advance and discuss with the examiner. It can be on any subject that interests them but must allow them to demonstrate the language functions and communicative skills required for the grade.

The Conversation: the candidate engages in a one-to-one conversation based on two subject areas appropriate to the grade

IELTS Life Skills

In the first part, you are expected to ask and answer questions on familiar topics.

The second part is a combined listening and speaking task.

At level A and level B, you will listen to a task played on a CD. Completing the task allows you to show your ability to listen for both the general meaning and detail.

You will say your answers, although you can makes notes on paper while you listen to the CD.

There will then be a discussion on a theme related to what you have listened to on the CD.

Additionally at B1 level, there is also a task where you plan an activity with the other candidate.

► Do you provide training for B1 ESOL Speaking & Listening Exam?

► What is a Topic Form?


Trinity College GESE Grade 5

You will be required to speak on a topic that you are confident with for the first 5 minutes. Once you have chosen a topic to speak on, the Topic Form will need to be filled in with the details of your chosen topic. You can download a blank topic here.

► Is the B1 exam the same as Grade 5 or ESOL Entry Level 3?

Yes. Trinity College call their ESOL Entry Level 3 exams GESE Grade 5 and this qualification is B1 Level in Common European Framework.

► Do I need to send my result or certificate to the Home Office?

Please note that you cannot send your provisional result to the Home Office. You must use your actual certificate.

We do not accept any responsibility or liability if candidates do not apply with the correct documentation.

► I cannot find an answer to my question here. What can I do?

Please contact us if you require any further clarification with your booking. Please note that we are only an examination centre and we do NOT deal with the application process.

► What is the refund policy?
    • All cancellations and/or changes will incur a 25% admin fee. 
      • Any cancellations must be done at least 3 working days prior to the training date. Under no circumstances will any cancellation requests received within three working days of the training  will be processed; candidates will not receive ANY refund.
      • Refund requests take 10 working days to process
      • Refunds shall be issued by cheque or electronic fund transfer into applicant's account
